Established in 1921 in Bexleyheath by Mr F.G.Snowden as a men's outfitter the business has expanded particularly during the 1950s and 1960s. Different trends, fashions and changes in the area have meant that Snowdens have changed. In 1995 Mr J. D. Snowden, the third generation, decided to concentrate on Hire and Made to Measure.

As members of the Wedding Guild, Snowdens moved to Dartford where the company shares the building with Jaquelines House of Brides. Snowdens now hires and sells formal wear for all occasions including weddings, black tie dinners, Ascot, garden parties, investitures, masonic meetings and even funerals.

A Made to Measure service for suits, jackets, blazers etc. is accomplished in four weeks and general tailoring alterations are undertaken at the same premises.
